ESPRIT is a project inherent to the Jean Monnet programme for the teaching, the research and the study of themes related to European integration. The Jean Monnet programme is managed by the European Commission through the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). Besides stimulating activities of teaching, research and reflection about the themes related to European integration, it aims to stimulate excellence in teaching and research, and to strengthen knowledge and awareness about the themes related to European integration among the experts from the academic world, the institutions, the students and the European citizens at large.

The ESPRIT project is addressed to primary and secondary school teachers and to high school students of Umbria. It aims to develop educational paths and teaching methodologies about European Union's values within the framework of vocational education and training, by means of initiatives aimed at achieving the following targets:

ESPRIT has an innovative nature in particular as regards implementation methodologies: it represents a real offer aiming at the collaboration between universities and high and middle schools; it expects the participants to play an active role in all the activities; it provides for the study of practical cases and the "role play" methodology in order to support the learning by the teachers and the students who will take part to the events.
